Authors

Near the bottom of the homepage, Wire shows a carousel of author cards built from your staff profiles: photo, name, post count and bio. The section ends with an Explore All link to the /authors/ page.

Customization Steps#

  1. Navigate to ⛭ Settings → Design
  2. Click Customize
  3. Click Theme
  4. Scroll to the Homepage section
  5. Edit Section authors filter
  6. Click Save

The default value is popular:6, which shows the six authors with the most posts.

What Each Card Shows#

  • Profile picture — replaced by a block with the first letter of the name when there is none
  • Name
  • Post count
  • Bio — trimmed to two lines, so keep it to one sentence

Clicking a card opens that author's archive with all of their posts.

Editing Author Profiles#

  1. Navigate to ⛭ Settings → Staff
  2. Click the person you want to edit
  3. Add a profile picture and write a Bio
  4. Click Save

Only authors with at least one published post appear in this section. A new staff member stays invisible until their first post goes live.

The Explore All Link#

The link points to /authors/, which needs a page of its own:

  1. Go to Pages → New page
  2. Enter a page title
  3. Open Page settings and change Page URL to authors
  4. Click Publish
